I’m so glad that the denim on denim look is back. I remember when Britney Spears and JT did it back in the early 2000s, and while it may not have been everyone’s favorite couple outfit, it was a moment that everyone can remember. Well, I can’t actually remember them wearing denim on denim because I was only five years old in 2001, but I do know that they served a look that no one in the fashion world could ever forget. Finding your personal style comes with some wins and some major L’s. I’ve definitely had some hits and some misses. But I personally don’t let the opinions of others– or at least I TRY not to let the opinions of others get the best of me.
Like many other things, fashion is a game of trial and error. I’ve fallen on my face in the attempt to be ~fashion forward~ and ~trendy~ many times, but I’ve also gotten a lot of compliments on looks I was a little anxious or skeptical about trying. I talk about confidence a lot on my blog because its so big in my life. It’s taken me a long time to get where I’m at to find confidence and I’m proud of it. Since I’m so comfortable with who I am I have no problem rocking trends that some people might hate. I’m telling you, learning to love myself for myself was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself and for my wardrobe.
That being said, I am absolutely obsessed with the denim on denim trend and I hope this trend is here to stay. Denim is classic and so easy to throw on. Before the trend came back it was so stressful finding a jacket to wear if I was ever wearing jeans. Now that the monochromatic look is back I can freely wear a denim jacket with blue denim jeans and not think twice about it. Style + comfort = major win in my book. I love outfits I can throw on and not have to fuss about.
A Whole Lotta Love,
