One of my best friends, Ashlyn, just graduated from college! Ashlyn is someone I look up to greatly and she inspires me to be a better me. I am so proud of all that she’s accomplished and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for her. My little pup is all grown up!! To celebrate her amazing achievement we took a girls trip to Mexico!
This was my first time out of the country so I was beyond excited. Our first two days were spent on the beach in Playa del Carmen. This was my personal favorite part of the trip because we played in bikinis all day, sipped on margaritas, and ate an endless supply of chips n guac and just RELAXED. AKA my dream world.
After Playa del Carmen we made our way to Cancun, Mexico. Cancun became our home base. From there we traveled to Chichen Itza, Yucatan, Mexico- one of the Seven Wonders of the World. I talk about my experience at Chichen Itza here. On our way back from Chichen Itza we stopped at Cenote Ik Kil. A Cenote is an underwater sinkhole. If you’ve ever seen a picture of a cave with blue waters that opens up to the sky on Tumblr it was probably a Cenote. The water was freezing but it was a once in a life time experience so I had to at least dip in. It was almost impossible to take decent pictures here, photos just don’t do this place justice! There are no words to explain how breath taking this place was.
The rest of the trip was spent exploring the city. We visited a gorgeous catholic church, ate fresh churros (which I must add were the best churros I’ve ever had in my entire life), ordered lots of tacos, nachos, and guac, and spent most of our moments in bikinis.
I tried my best to capture as many moments as possible on the trip to share with you all. At the same time I was trying my best to just enjoy the moments I had in such a beautiful place with my girls. I definitely missed a lot of photos, I didn’t even save a picture of the best tacos ever from Tacos Rigos!!!! 🙁 But I will always remember those exquisite tacos. Sometimes being in the moment > spending all your time taking pics.
I hope you guys enjoy this post! Hopefully I can continue to share more of my traveling experiences with you all 🙂
A Whole Lotta Love,
