Last week I interviewed and shot with Art+Flea for their blog A+F Features. My interview can be found on their fashion feature segment: A+F Style Snaps where I talk about my fashion and blog inspirations and my future aspirations as a blogger and business woman. I had so much fun shooting and LOVE the way the photos came out. Jaz, who shot and wrote the feature was so sweet and easy to work with. Be sure to read the post!
Surprisingly, I wasn’t nervous for the interview at all. I was actually really excited to talk about my blog, why I do it, the meaning behind it, and my future goals with someone other than my close friends or family. It gave me some much needed time of reflection and goal planning.
They asked me to bring in three outfits that reflected my personal style. This was my first outfit, and it definitely is a reflection of me. My style is very simple and casual, but I still love to rock trendy pieces. I always find myself wearing monochromatic looks; black on black or white on white.
I broke down my black on black outfit by adding tan elements to create structure. I chose this bold western belt as my trendy piece. The best part is that I got it for $5 at GoodWill (I linked a similar one for you above). To really spice up the black on black, I threw on my leopard booties. To me, leopard is a neutral so I wear it with anything. For most, these boots are definitely a statement piece. What can I say? I’m a cheetah/leopard girl for life! lol
When it comes to bold or trendy items I stick with one or two pieces and keep the rest of my outfit refined and neutral. I want to appear effortless while also making a statement. It’s all about balancing the trendy pieces with basic pieces.
A Whole Lotta Love,
