The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. My name is Michaela and I am addicted to shoes.
A little dramatic, but honestly this summer I’ve purchased way too many shoes and I’m still on the hunt for more. The shoes you put on your feet complete the outfit. In my opinion, the right pair of shoes can transform an outfit entirely from boring to bold. Hawaii is so laid back, and everyone dresses casual for the most part. I just can’t get myself to do a cute fit a dishonor by wearing it with slippers (they’re slippers not flip flops).
A small variation in shoe style, or a changed detail in a sandal can change an outfit drastically. Therefore, I justify buying so many different shoes. They’re just all SO DIFFERENT. I love keeping up with what’s currently trending. That being said, a trend is a “trend”. Meaning, eventually it will not be a trend and it will go out of style. For this reason, I shop for shoes affordably.
Your shoe game can be on point without breaking the bank. Here are my favorite affordable shoes for the Summer:
1. Mules– Mules are the perfect balance of casual and dressy. I have these in black and love how sleek they make my outfit look. I’m dying to get my hands on red mules ** heart eyes**, they’d look gorgeous with an all-white outfit.
2. Espadrilles– These probably aren’t for everyone, they weren’t even for me at first but now I’m obsessed with the boho, beach-y vibes these sandals bring to an outfit. I prefer the open toe styles, because the closed ones are a little too ballet slipper looking for me.
3. Embroidered Shoes– Embroidery is everywhere at the moment. I think embroidered sneakers would look dope with a simple street style outfit. The trendy shoes keep the outfit casual while still making a bold statement.
4. Cross Over Sandals– Simple, easy, and cute. I wear my cross over sandals any time I’m running out the door but don’t want to wear slippers. These are the perfect Summer sandals that can be worn to the pool & beach, a day out shopping, or a casual lunch.
Having fun with trends is one of my favorite things about dressing up. To keep up, and save up I shop affordably by looking for pieces under $50. I hope this helps you guys shop for your Summer wardrobe!
A Whole Lotta Love,
